How does your garden grow?

Well....mine isn't doing too bad. Things are at least GROWING!! The only plant to have produced anything so far is the tomatoes. (Seriously though - Just about anyone can grow a tomato!) It's exciting to watch the garden growing. Everything you see was planted from seeds except the 2 tomato plants. Our church is having a "Stake Fair" in August as a way to encourage people to plant gardens and learn to be more self-sufficient. There will be judging and prizes just like in a regular fair. For my first attempt at a garden, I am quite pleased. Hopefully what you see will produce edible vegetables and something worthy of being judged!!

My little green tomatoes!!

P.S. We also planted some strawberry plants in our planter by the house. The birds got to the first few strawberries that ripened. The kids and I shared the ONE strawberry today that was ripe enough to eat. It was tasty! The kids wanted more. We'll have to wait a few more days for the next ones to be ripe enough to eat.

Your garden looks great, wish we had space. Do you have a name for the baby yet?

Your garden looks beautiful. This is the first year that we haven't done a garden in awhile. Funny you should mention your 1 strawberry and that ANYONE can grow tomatoes. A few years ago I planted basil and tomatoes. I had great plans for all of the Italian recipes I would make with all of my basil and tomatoes. The basil grew well. But, after much watering and tending, I only got ONE tomato. I like to joke about how expensive that one tomato was considering all of the water, time, and energy we spent on that plant!!!
BTW, Kaya is adorable! Happy belated b-day to her.
