Busy Busy Busy

This cute boy is now almost 10 months old! He crawls, cruises, and has got the sweetest smile ever! He says dada, mum mum, and uh uh (uh oh). He does lots of tricks on cue like clapping his hands, doing "so big", knocking on the wall, and putting his head on my shoulder when I say "night night". He LOVES being mobile and he LOVES his sisters and brother. Kaya had her 2nd dance recital. She did a super job and enjoyed dance this year. There were only 4 girls in her class. I took pictures at the recital but they didn't turn out very well. Kaya wanted flowers after the recital. She wants to try tumbling/gymnastics next year.Logan is officially a pre-school graduate. He will start kindergarten in the Fall. He LOVED going to school and being with his friends. He will be the youngest (Missing the cut off by only 6 days) but he is more than ready for school. We are proud of him and I know he's going to LOVE kindergarten.Colton had his first yummy treat of graham crackers with frosting. Our family attend my family reunion in June. We had a good time visiting with our extended family and enjoying the day at the park. Here is a picture of us. This was the day after celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. Colton fell asleep at the park. He had his foot kicked up and was relaxed. This stroller has served us well through 4 kids. Father's day is always a special day. The kids love their daddy and I'm grateful for him being such a good husband and dad to our kids.Aaron attended a week long Scout camp with his troop of boys. 12 boys attended camp this year. They earned over 50 merit badges and had a super time. He makes this job look easy! It's a good thing he is such a great Scout leader. We had a few spare minutes before church this morning. Time to snap a picture. Too bad we couldn't get everyone to smile at the same time. But I sure have some cute kiddos!!My handsome hubby has been losing weight. He's already lost 50 lbs. He's trying to lose at least 50 more. He's doing a great job and he's looking great. I've been losing weight too. It's hard to keep track of exactly how much since my weight has been up and down so much with the 4 pregnancies. But since the day I gave birth to my last baby, I've lost 60 pounds. (Almost 10 of that was the baby alone!) I started a running program along with changes in my diet. I hope to lose another 15 lbs. I signed up to run the Ragnar Relay Race in Las Vegas with my mom and 2 sister in laws in October. It's a big goal but I know I can be ready. Here's to being healthy, looking good, and feeling great!Kaya will be 7 years old this week. Each day she reminds us how many more days it is until her birthday. She is SO excited to be another year older. She's a beautiful girl and she's very smart. She's a good big helper and she LOVES her friends. I hope she has a super birthday!!

Keeping Busy with Moose

Aaron hiking slot canyons with his Boy Scout Troop.

Our Family after church on Easter Sunday.

This cute boy is 8 months old already. He has the sweetest smile and fuzziest hair. He also tips the scales at 22 lbs!! What a chunk of LOVE!!

Colton didn't appreciate being dressed up as a princess by his big sister. Can you tell?

Here I am helping Emily shoot a rubber band gun at this year's Scout-O-Rama event.

Aaron was asked to speak at a friend's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. He did a great job!

A picture of me and the kids on Mother's Day.

Kaya took a dance class this year. This is one of her pictures. She just finished up and had her recital this past week. She did a good job and enjoyed dance but wants to do something different. We are going to try a Summer tumbling class.

I had the opportunity to fly to Minnesota to attend my brother's graduation from Law School. So proud of him!

The two little kids came with me. This is me, my mom, Emily, & Colton after church in MN.

Life with Us

Colton is the happiest baby you will ever meet. He has the cutest dimples and the BIGGEST smile! We went to the children's museum for a preschool field trip. Emily and Logan could have stayed to play ALL day long. I'm good after about an hour!
This is Logan at the museum. Just last week we went to kindergarten orientation for him. Wow! He's getting so big. He can read simple words, write his name, letters, numbers, and even sound out writing words on paper. The kindergarten teacher who took his group commented on how cute he was. I would have to agree!
Uncle Nick & Andrea watched the kids for us one night. This was on the camera when we got home. They had a good time.
Aaron took the big kids geocaching one afternoon. This is the biggest geocache ever. The kids found all kinds of cool prizes. Aaron had fun using the 4 x4 on his Pathfinder.
Aaron's Boy Scout troop participated in Scouting for Food drive. This isn't all the boys in his troop but it's a good group shot of those who helped collect food for the needy.
I've been sewing a lot lately. This is my latest project. A Happy Birthday Banner. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I'm going to make some to sell for a little extra money.
Colton is 7 months old now! He LOVED the balloons. He's such a cute boy. He says Dada and makes lots of noises. Kaya is quite good at getting him to imitate her and make funny noises. He's getting close to crawling too. He gets himself into crawling position and then doesn't know what to do. The time is going by too fast!

Soccer!!

Logan has been playing indoor soccer. He's a natural and seems to really enjoy it. Here are a few photos and a video clip. He's the one in the orange shorts!

Sewing Projects

Kaya wanted a green skirt for St. Patrick's Day. I found this fun (and inexpensive) fabric. I even had enough to make a coordinating skirt for Emily. Not bad for $6 and a couple of hours sewing.

Cutie Patootie

Colton sits up on his own now. (He'll be 6 months old next week) He likes to reach for the things hanging from his mat and play with toys on the floor. He also has the cutest pouty face! This is his "I'm trying not to cry" face. He's just so cute!!

Snow Much Fun

The kids love playing in the snow. This wasn't a very impressive storm, but it gave us just enough on our day off to go play. This was Colton's first experience with the snow and he didn't really know what to make of it. He fell asleep while we took turns sledding. At least he was nice and warm! We have a picture like this for each one of the kids - in the same green suit!

Growing Up

Kaya lost another tooth. It has been loose for some time and Emily accidentally knocked it with her head on Saturday - ouch! Throughout the day Kaya wiggled and twisted it. At one point she went into the bathroom and just pulled it out. What a brave girl!

Big Day for Kaya

Kaya got her ears pierced today!! This was the reward she chose to stop sucking her thumb. She was really excited and nervous. Kaya picked out a pair of purple birthstone earrings. She did great and we're proud of her. #1 for consciously breaking her habit #2 for being such a big girl while getting her ears pierced.

Here she is getting ready. She was pretty nervous. She was all smiles once it was done. Emily had fun while waiting. Logan found some fun accessories too!

Updates!!

I have 2 kids gone and 2 kids are asleep. Can I get an update done in less than 27 minutes? Let's see what we can do!

Here is Colton sporting a cute hat. It's still a little big but it sure brings out the blue in his eyes! Aaron's Boy Scout troop got the Year Round Camping Award. That means he camped 10 out of 12 months last year. He's on track to do it again this year. Logan's preschool took a field trip to the dinosaur museum. Always a fun place to visit.
Kaya got hit with the influenza B flu virus. Bummer. She was out of commission for 8 days. Thankfully no one else in the family got sick. Here was one of her sick days. Emily sat down with her and fell asleep. Grandma & Papa would be happy to know their green chair is well loved.Colton is 5 months old! He is starting to sit up really well. He likes to reach for toys put down in front of him. He LOVES rice cereal. He has to have his blue blanket to go to sleep. I put him down on the couch one morning to do something and came back just a minute later and he was asleep. He likes to make raspberries and he is just the cutest thing EVER!! We had a fun Valentine's Day. Do you think Logan would like a cookie to go with all those sprinkles?
