Emily Keeps us "Hopping"

We broke out the classic Johnny Jump the other day. It didn't take long for Emily to catch on. The big kids got a kick out of watching her hop around.

I finally brought in the high chair and got it all cleaned up. Emily has been eating baby food for a few weeks now and it was time to get her seated properly. We were using her bouncy seat for the time being. She looks so tiny in the big high chair but she sure loves her food. I've been making all the vegetables myself and have only been purchasing the store fruits. She has really enjoyed eating.

Logan Loves Smoothies!!

Logan loves to drink smoothies. We make them pretty healthy so it's good he likes them so much. Here's a picture of what he looks like after he's been drinking one of his favorite berry & banana smoothies:

Kaya's First Talk

Kaya gave gave her first talk in church a couple of weeks ago. Emily was really sick, so I wasn't able to see it in person. I put everything together and helped her memorize most of it. She needed a few hints from Dad but did very well. She read each line of her talk and held up a corresponding picture (In parentheses):

I am a child of God. (Kaya)
And He has sent me here. (Earth)
Has given me an earthly home. (House)
With parents kind and dear. (Mom & Dad)
I know my Father lives. (Heart)
And loves me too.
The Spirit whispers this to me. (Girl Praying)
And tells me it is true.
I need my Heavenly Father. (Girl Reading Scriptures)
To help me every day.
He wants me to be happy. (CTR)
And choose the righteous way.

Here's a picture of her before she left for church:

Emily's First Haircut

So I did it. I took Emily to get a haircut today. I really like the way it turned out. The girl did a good job just trimming it up and making it look more even. It grows so fast! Here are a few pictures:BEFORE - She got a kick out of sitting in the car. DURING - I couldn't keep the drape out of her mouth! Blah! The after picture is from bath time tonight. It's kind of hard to see the back, but we got rid of the baby mullet she had going on.

5 Months old and SO much fun!

Emily is 5 months old today! She is so much fun and is really a very happy baby. She can roll both ways and can get from one end of the room to the other unintentionally. She hasn't figured out yet that she can roll to get where she wants to go. She can sit up on her own for the most part and enjoys playing with toys placed in front of her. Emily has been eating rice cereal for about a week now and I'm going to try feeding her some carrots today. I'd like to try my hand at making her baby food. We'll see how that goes. She is so full of smiles and we all just lover her to pieces!
