Christmas 2010

We were very blessed this Christmas. It has been a good month for us and we are grateful for our family, friends, and the reason we celebrate Christmas is the first place. Here are a few of the highlights:

December So Far...

Logan's preschool had a field trip to a candy factory. Emily, Colton, and I went along for fun. It was a neat tour with yummy free samples. No cameras are allowed inside so we snapped a shot out front with our hairnets on!
We had a surprise visit from Santa. He showed up at our house to check in on the kids to make sure they were being good. We are so lucky to know Santa personally! For family home evening, we put together a gingerbread house. The kids had a good time. The kit was left over from last year so we had to threaten the kids not to eat ANY candy. It was pretty stale anyways. But still fun to decorate!
Colton is 3 months old! He tips the scales at 17 lbs 6 ounces. He has really good upper body strength and is full of smiles and giggles. He doesn't like "tummy time" and he prefers to sleep in mom & dad's bed. These kids grow up way too fast!

New Addition

This is newest addition to our family. Due to circumstances beyond our control, being a 1 vehicle family just wasn't working out. After close to 2 months of searching, we finally found a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder to meet our needs for a 2nd vehicle. Aaron is excited about the "On the fly" 4 wheel drive. I'm looking forward to a smaller vehicle to drive when we don't have to haul the kids around. Yay!!

December Already?!?!

Kaya had her first dance recital. She did a jazz dance to "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas". Then she did a clogging/tap number to "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer". She did really well and had a good time. She's excited for January when class starts up again.Colton is almost 3 months old and growing like crazy. He has started to reach for things and grab them. He's so cute!

Happy Thanksgiving

We got this idea from a friend. On Monday night we made a garland of the things we are thankful for. It was a simple activity to help the kids see our blessings. We each had 3 leaves. This is what we came up with: Family x 2, Face, The Earth, My bed, Crackers and Milk, Birthday, America, A Healthy Family, Heather, Love, Friends, Milk from Mommy, The Gospel, Nursery at Church, Clean Diapers, Love from My Family, Home.
We hope your family has a blessed and SAFE Thanksgiving!!

Colton

Colton found his thumb today. What are the odds? This make 3/4 kids who suck their thumb. It sure is convenient though!

Colton - 2 Months Old

Our littlest man is not so little. At 2 months old he checks in at 15 lbs 14.4 oz. and 24.2 inches long. He is the size of the average 4 month old. At this rate, he's on track to be one tall kiddo!! At least we know he's healthy. He's such a happy baby and is full of smiles. He LOVES the kids and all the attention they give him. He's awake a lot during the day but sleeps reasonably well during the night. I can't complain when I only have to get up 1 time to feed him. We love him so much and are happy to have him here. Our little family is complete.

Happy Halloween!!

I know it's a day early, but here in Utah when Halloween falls on a Sunday, Everyone celebrates on Saturday. So even though Halloween isn't until tomorrow, the kids carved pumpkins and dressed up for trick or treating tonight. (Saturday)

This picture of Emily cracks me up. She had just woken up from a nap and was not thrilled to have her picture taken. The forecast for tonight was/is cold, wind, and RAIN!! We managed to get a little bit of trick or treating in during a break in the storms.

The trick or treaters. Logan - aka Sheriff Woody from Toy Story had the opportunity to wear his costume to preschool. Kaya the Bride got to wear her costume to school too. Colton is our 4th little pumpkin. All 4 of the kids have worn the pumpkin costume for their first Halloween. Even after all the baby clothes are gone, I think I'm going to save this one just because. We had 6 pumpkins to carve this year. All but 1 of them were grown in our garden. Kaya got a free one through school this year.Have a Happy Halloween!!

A Little Update

Emily having fun with the Halloween costumes.
Kaya lost another tooth. I had to pull this one out with some embroidery floss. There were lots of tears but much relief when the tooth was finally gone.Logan went to the pumpkin patch with his preschool.Colton is cute, smiley, and oh so snuggly. I'm going to miss the newborn snuggle stage. I could sit and hold the babies like this all day long. But then I would really never get anything done. Colton likes the warmth of sleeping on Daddy.
