Emily is officially 8 months old. She is crawling everywhere and is now pulling herself up to anything she can. Emily LOVES to play under and around the kitchen table. She's always trying to climb in and around the chairs and pull herself up. She's not "cruising" the furniture yet but I'm sure it won't be long. She a very happy baby and loves the attention of her brother and sister. Of course, everything goes in the mouth too. No teeth yet. (Thankfully for Mommy). The funny girl LOVES cereal bars and playing peek a boo. Emily has been such a joy to have in our family!
Emily's cheeks and nose are a bit orange from all the veggies she eats.
This is how Emily fell asleep one day.
Emily likes feeling the air that comes out of the vents.

Trip to California
I got a wild hair and decided to drive to California to visit our families. BY MYSELF with 3 kids!! The drive went surprisingly well. I bought a portable DVD player which really helped keep the big kids entertained. Emily slept off and on the whole time. She did surprisingly VERY well. We enjoyed the nice warm weather in Cali. We even got to go swimming with Grammie Serr. We were there to celebrate my Dad's birthday and just enjoyed spending time with the grandparents. I also spent time working on some Family History and scanning historical documents from my grandmother. All in all - it was productive! Here are a few pictures from the trip:

Happy Birthday Nick!!!
Today is Aaron's brother Nick's BIRTHDAY!! We have been lucky enough to have "Uncle Nick" taking up residence in our basement since last September. The kids have enjoyed having their uncle around and I've enjoyed having an extra babysitter and dishwasher! Ladies, Nick is very single and quite available! He will make a great husband for the gal lucky enough to catch him. Do you know any one we can set him up with?? Happy Birthday!!

7 Months Old
Children's Musuem
Kaya's preschool class went on a field trip to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum this past week. Admission was $3 per kid and the adults were FREE! What a deal. They only let us stay for 2 hours but it was just enough time to play and explore the museum. Even Emily enjoyed playing in the toddler area. We treated ourselves to some lunch afterwards at Panda Express. It was really good to get out of the house. Kaya had been sick most of the week and was finally feeling better. She missed 2 days of school with a high fever. I'm looking forward to getting back on schedule Monday morning. We just received our paperwork in the mail to register Kaya for Kindergarten!!! I can't believe my little girl is getting so big. It happens so fast!!!

Emily is on the move...
So Emily isn't exactly crawling yet, but tonight she figured out she could get herself from point A to point B. She is quite the talker and is enjoying her floor time. She'll be officially crawling in no time at all!

It's all about Kaya!!
Last weekend we signed Kaya up to play indoor soccer with some kids from Church. It only lasts for 6 weeks and we thought it would be good to start exposing Kaya to some different sports and extracurricular activities. We picked up some new athletic shoes and a pair of shin guards last night from Target. Kaya had no idea what soccer was until Aaron showed her some YouTube videos this morning! Kaya attended an hour long clinic to learn about warming up, stretching, kicking the ball, and scoring goals. She was VERY proud of herself for being able to kick the ball into the goal net. She loved her shin guards so much, she wore them to the park this afternoon. Silly Girl!! I also signed Kaya up to play T-ball through the girls softball association. She doesn't have any idea what T-ball is either but we're getting her excited to play with the other girls. That will start in April after the weather has warmed up some. I'm especially excited for her to play. I'm hoping she'll go on to love the sport!
